About Us
Ron and Ginger are recently retired school teachers with a combined
66 years of teaching experience. Their retirement plans have
always included a future
involving people and their love of collecting antiques.
Wherever they traveled, they always stayed at a bed and breakfast.
Since this was always an enjoyable experience, they both felt that
operating a bed and
breakfast would be a perfect retirement endeavor for them. Soon
after beginning their search, Ron and Ginger chose an old 1800's
farmhouse. This place
appealed to their idea of a comfortable country setting for guests wishing
to relax and get away. They selected Holland, Massachusetts because it was
a gateway to this state with its rich history, and also had many nearby attractions
such as the Brimfield Antique Show and Old Sturbridge Village.
Ron welcomes the
many maintenance challenges of an old house. He is the breakfast cook and loves
creating hearty meals for their guests. Ginger enjoys baking delicious breakfast
breads, coffee cakes, and muffins . She takes much pleasure in her ever expanding
gardens filled with beautiful birds, butterflies, and wildlife. Since they
both enjoy reading, the library has been filled with many wonderful books.
Ron and Ginger have decorated their bed and breakfast to give one the feel
of an old country farmhouse. Their comfortable rooms have been named after
their beloved grandchildren. They take pride in sharing interesting information
about their home's history. There is a working Rumford fireplace and the remains
of an adjacent old cotton mill that burned in 1855. They welcome you as guests
and hope you leave as friends.
